Debbie is a Registered Nurse in the State of Hawai‘i with more than 20 years of experience in healthcare. She is a Board Certified Geriatric Nurse from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She also has a Masters Degree in Public Administration from University of Hawaii. Debbie’s focus for the last several years has been in Geriatrics, Palliative and End of Life Care.
- Debbie is originally from Maryland where she began her career in Home Health working for Adventist Home Health Services as a visiting nurse, quality assurance coordinator, and staff development coordinator.
- She moved to Hawaii in 1998 and worked for Kaiser Community Case Management part-time for eight years as a case manager. She also developed in-services, coordinated quality assurance activities, developed policies and procedures and assisted with preparation for state surveys.
- In 2008 she joined the staff of ‘Ohana Health Plan and in May of 2009 moved over to its sister company Malama ‘Ohana Case Management as a Senior Community Care Manager.
- Debbie has lived eight years in Korea (1978, 1983, 1991-97) where she studied Korean language and engaged in her second career teaching English as a Second Language which included teaching classes at Universities and privately, writing English conversation text books, and appearing on language related Korean television shows.
- Debbie is currently a board member of the Hawaii Association of Case Managers and is the chairman of the Website Committee.
